We frequently work with a number of private equity houses and banks/financial institutions, including The Royal Bank of Scotland and the Bank of Scotland.
All businesses have overheads (telecoms, gas, electricity, insurance etc). Some spend a lot of time/effort on them, others very little. With our expertise, we can review your overheads and recommend improvements available to you. These can either be implemented by the company’s internal team or by the EPS team.
Frequently we will be introduced to a company by its equity or debt provider to assist with cost reduction. Potential areas of cost saving have previously been identified, for example, in the business plan, or more frequently, we will be employed to research and report on areas of potential savings.
The key times when we find the demand for our services under this heading is strongest is:
- Post deal, when two or more companies have merged or when a company has been bought out of a group;
- Pre-sale, when all parties are keen to groom a business and ensure the best price possible is obtained when marketing the business for sale;
- When a business is under-performing. We have had a number of successes with working alongside existing management teams and general business turnaround consultants in taking out significant cost.
